Avonlea Collections, established in 1984 to provide the Ottawa region with direct access to Canada's foremost female wildlife painter, Christine Marshall, whose media is acrylic on canvas.

Her highly detailed style referred to as "Romantic Realism", presents a warmer side permitting an emotional interlude with her subjects. She strives to make her wildlife appear so real that the viewer can almost sense their inner thoughts, so natural that they come alive and so compelling that the observer is tempted to reach out and try to touch it.

The compositions are from nature in form and earthy in colour. Mushrooms, owls, chipmunks, chickadees, mammals, birds and other wild elements of nature are her favourite subjects.
